On Tuesday, May 6, 2003, a crew working on a house on Sample Street, Millvale found a human jawbone in the basement. There is little information available on the jawbone but an article in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review on May 8, 2003 stated:
A human jawbone found in the basement of a Millvale home appears to be part of a medical display and not the remains of a murder victim, a spokesman for the Allegheny County Coroner's office said Wednesday.
'It's shellacked and preserved, so we believe it's a medical specimen,' chief deputy coroner Joseph Dominick said.
