Case Details On Thursday, February 9, 1995, the skull of this unknown person was found in the 300 block of Washington Road, Forest Hills. It was discovered by an employee of the Chambers Development Co, Inc while collecting trash in the area.
During the ensuing investigation, it was learned that the skull had been discarded by a resident of Washington Road. The woman had been an employee at the former Columbia Hospital on Penn Ave in Wilkinsburg. When the facility closed, it had been her responsibility to dispose of several items, including the skull, that had been used in the hospital's education department. Thinking that it was made of plastic, she took the skull home and used it as a Halloween decoration. A forensic pathologist determined that it was actually a human skull.
The skull reportedly had the name "John" written on it along with other (unknown) notations.
